Examples of my corporate work for Discover Financial:

Example One:

Discover Management System (DMS) Corporate Identity

In 2018, Discover asked the question, “How can we work faster, become more innovative, drive revenue growth and investment in enhanced risk management while also becoming efficient?” That’s why the Discover Management System (DMS) was developed. With roots in Lean and Agile, DMS is a common sense approach to enhancing collaboration across business units, aligning resources, providing employees with more meaningful work and delivering innovative products and a better overall experience to customers. Therefore, it was mandated that DMS be implemented throughout Discover over a 2-year rollout period. In an effort to build awareness and enthusiasm, I was tasked to design an identity for the program which included a logo, environmental graphics, digital tactics and motion graphics for media.


The AfterEffects video below was a key part of my groups creative presentation. This video explains how the proposed design solutions intersect with a core essence definition for the program that I defined. Prior to this presentation, the DMS concept and purpose was widely misunderstood. The result of this work successfully put into place a new logo and identity for the program and provided a core value definition which led to greater understanding and adoption. That definition, “Collaboration for continuous improvement” was embraced at the highest executive levels and is still being used by Discover today.

The video animation below was created for looping play on monitors around the campus and inside designated DMS meeting rooms. I designed and art directed this project which was produced with Maya 3D and Adobe AfterEffects. My colleague performed the Maya work which was then handed off to me to finish in AfterEffects where I added additional lighting and the opening sound effects.

Example 2:

Email Journey For Inactive Card Users

With a goal to drive $1B in sales over 3 years, with 250MM benefit in 2019, and due to a lack of sales in excess of 3B, this email journey became the most important marketing initiative in 2019. I was asked to spearhead the design and implementation of this project which involved myself and a small team of designers, writers and account managers. The project was completed early (by more than 30 days) based on the original timeline. It begins in May 2019.

This is my design for a condensed version of the Corporate Brand Style Guide. This is currently the style guide that is in use.
